Some thoughts stay with you long after a conversation ends.
Bill Strickland once shared with me a simple sentiment that he learned a long time ago. The more I think about it, the more I believe it reflects something important about who we are at L&W. “People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.” In our industry, knowing a lot
matters. Insurance is complicated, and it takes experience to understand the risks, knowledge to navigate the options, and
expertise to help someone make a decision that could protect
everything they’ve worked so hard to build. Our team brings more than 430 years of combined industry experience, and as an independent agency, we have access to more than 100 insurance carriers. That knowledge and those resources give our clients confidence in who they have in their corner.
The policy may be what we are selling, but what it
protects is what’s important. For a business owner, it may be something they’ve built from nothing. For a
family, it may be the home where their children grow up. For an employer, it may be the health of the people who helped build their business. And you can’t understand what’s truly important until you take the time to know thepeople behind it.
That is why our process begins with discovery. Before we can recommend any coverages, we need to understand who we’re working with. We ask questions, listen to the answers, and identify what matters to them.
The best insurance advice isn’t
necessarily about finding the
lowest price, it’s about
understanding someone’s situation well enough to help them make an informed decision that makes sense for their life, their family, their
business, and their future.
The people we work with are not just clients. They’re our neighbors. They’re business owners, families, community leaders, volunteers, and friends. They’re the people coaching little league, opening businesses,
helping bring new hospitals to life, supporting local organizations, and working to make their communities better.
There are plenty of places
someone can go to buy insurance, but a lasting relationship is built on something more than just a policy. It’s built through conversations that sometimes take a little longer,
questions that are answered
without making someone feel like they’re asking too much, and the
reassurance of knowing there is someone who will be there when things don’t go according to plan.
That’s what Bill’s sentiment is about. Ultimately, insurance is about people. It’s about the businesses people have spent years building, the homes where families make memories, the employees who help organizations
succeed, and the
communities we all share.
At L&W, we believe the best partnerships begin when people know they can trust your expertise and that you’re truly invested in helping them. And perhaps that is the simplest way to describe what we hope every client feels when they work with us: that they aren’t just another policy,
another account, or another
renewal. They are someone we know, someone we value, and someone who knows they have us
in their corner.
